Our Story

What began as the Manum Dare Foundation was built on a simple yet powerful vision: to lend a hand.

The Latin phrase “Manum Dare” captured our heart during our very first year of operation, when we awarded our initial scholarship to help students in our community. It reflected the beginning of our journey — a few college students stepping out in faith to support others.

A New Name, A Deeper Meaning

As we’ve grown, so has our mission. Today, we embrace a new name that carries a deeper meaning and reflects our prayer for the future: Hem of Hope Foundation.

This name is inspired by the biblical story of the woman who, after years of suffering, reached out and touched the hem of Jesus’ garment — and was made whole. (Luke 8:43–48)

That same wholeness, healing, and hope are what we seek to display through every act of service, every scholarship awarded, and every life we touch.

Our story is one of faith and action. We believe true hope comes from knowing God, and our prayer is that this story — of reaching, believing, and being restored — is woven into everything we do.

Though the name has changed, our heart remains the same:

  • Equipping students with access to education and opportunity.

  • Building up communities through generosity and connection.

  • Reflecting God’s love by being a source of hope and wholeness to those we serve.

What began with lending a hand has grown into offering hope. And we invite you to be part of that story. Together, we can open doors, uplift communities, and reflect God’s love in real and transformative ways.
